Symptoms
- Integration button does not respond.
- Parts do not transfer to the DMS.
- Integration functions fail after IPS installation.
Most Common Cause
Integration issues may be caused by dealership or domain-level security policies that restrict IPS operation. This is especially common in environments with centrally managed endpoint security, antivirus, application control, or Group Policy restrictions.
Verify IPS Version
Ensure the customer is running the latest version of IPS before performing additional troubleshooting.
Older IPS versions may contain dependencies that have been removed in newer releases.
Antivirus and Endpoint Security
Verify that IPS3.exe is added to the allowed or whitelisted applications list within any antivirus or endpoint security software.
Registry Information
- The IPS installer writes registry entries during installation.
- Registry writes occur only during installation.
- IPS3.exe does not write to the registry during normal operation.
- Administrative rights are not required for the installer's user-level registry entries.
Resolution
- Verify you running the latest IPS version.
- Confirm IPS3.exe is whitelisted in any antivirus or endpoint security software.
- Review any domain-level, Group Policy, endpoint security, or application control policies that may be restricting IPS functionality.
- If restrictions are identified, work with the dealership's IT department to create the necessary exceptions.
- Retest the integration after any changes are made.
Additional Information
Previous IPS versions utilized a batch file during operation. Newer releases have removed this dependency, which may help resolve integration issues in environments with restrictive security policies.
